Nissan New Zealand is calling on Patrol owners from across the country to help assemble what it hopes will be the largest gathering of Nissan Patrols ever held in New Zealand.
The Nissan Patrol Muster at Muriwai will take place on Sunday 15 November, bringing together 63 examples of the long-running four-wheel drive as Nissan celebrates the history of the nameplate, farewells the V8 era and prepares for the arrival of the new-generation Y63.

Owners of Patrols from every era are invited, whether their vehicle is a carefully preserved classic, a hard-working tow rig, a heavily modified off-roader or a well-used family tourer. The aim is to capture a genuine cross-section of New Zealand’s Patrol community and the different ways these vehicles continue to be used.
The gathering will begin at Muriwai Surf Club at 10am, where Nissan New Zealand will welcome participants and provide a hot drink for each registered driver and one passenger. The assembled vehicles will then form up for photography and drone footage before heading onto Muriwai Beach for a drive and a second group photo.
The new Y63 Patrol will also be on static display, giving owners an early opportunity to see the next generation of Nissan’s flagship four-wheel drive in the metal ahead of its New Zealand arrival. While the move from the familiar V8 to a twin-turbocharged V6 marks a significant change for the Patrol, the new model promises more power and torque alongside a considerably more modern chassis and cabin.

One registered participant will also win the use of a new Y63 Patrol for a week once a suitable press vehicle becomes available.
4XJournal has joined Nissan New Zealand as a media partner for the gathering and will be there to document the vehicles and people behind the Patrol community.
Attendance is limited to 63 vehicles and approximately 200 people, so registration is essential. Anyone intending to take part in the beach drive must also obtain a valid Auckland Council permit for driving on Muriwai Beach before the event.
